For those who went to the Red and Blue scrimmage the other day, one absence (among many) was junior forward Andreas Schreiber.
I haven't talked to any of the team's coaches, or Schreiber himself, about this yet, but a source who is very close to the team tells me that he hurt his shoulder in practice diving for a loose ball.
As for the exact nature of the injury, he has heard the terms 'dislocated' and 'separated.' Like my source, I'm not sure there is a difference. As for a return time, who knows, but it is probably a couple of weeks at the least.

There's a big difference between separated and dislocated. They involve different parts of the shoulder and have different implications for treatment. Let's hope that it's a minor separation and not a dislocation.

Thanks very much for the clarification. Hopefully we will know more about Schreiber's condition after Wednesday's practice. We all wish him a speedy return to the court.

I heard that the plan is to have Schreiber back at 100% for the Florida trip. Any truth to that?

Florida? I heard 4-6 weeks when it was diagnosed and the injury was almost two weeks ago. I'm thinking he's back by 12/1 if not a week sooner. We have a few important games before that holiday trip to Florida.
