I believe the blog offers an open forum that the comments section of the paper's website does not. One-sided discussion and criticism is not what a blog is about. As an editor, I try to stay out of discussions (I think this is the first time I've posted), but this isn't the first time this criticism -- which is coverage-related and not post-related -- has come up and I don't think it's fair. On the one hand, I'm glad that our readers hold us to higher standards in terms of our coverage. On the other, you have to understand that we're a student newspaper. Paper space and manpower are very limited, and we are first and foremost a Penn newspaper. We devote our resources accordingly. I'll admit that I dropped the ball in not getting one or two Big 5 games covered, but past that, it would be difficult for us to get that much more Big 5 coverage in the paper.

Seriously, DP editors should not be posting comments. Changing the rule for the blog has given you guys less credibility.

Not sure what was ambiguous about my statement. If you cared about the Big 5 you would have more stories in the paper about it.

Glad you made the trip out Josh. I wish the editors cared as much about the Big 5 as you seem to.
